Public Man, Private Life

Lee Kuan Yew was the world's longest serving prime minister when he stepped down in 1990, and continued to serve the cabinet until 2011 as Senior Minister, and later Minister Mentor. Most are familiar with Mr Lee's his trademark no-nonsense style and sagacious persona. It was only when he made a last, sad goodbye to his wife at her funeral that the world saw a glimmer of the private person - devoted, caring and warm-hearted, as described by friends and family.
