An intense portrait of a group of animals that we demonize and are currently in the process of wiping out. Without cages, Christina films tiger sharks, reef sharks, and hammerhead sharks. She meets people who study sharks, who help them, or who have been injured in encounters with them. The Riddle of the Hammerhead Sharks

Far out in the Pacific Ocean off Hawaii, Christina Karliczek Skoglund wants to film what are perhaps the most enigmatic sharks of all: hammerhead sharks. Together with marine biologist Florian Graner, she embarks on a risky dive to a depth of over 40 meters – at a remote, difficult-to-access dive site with strong currents. They want to document a behavior that has never been recorded there before. Will they succeed? And the great white shark also poses a mystery: off the coast of South Africa, these animals have completely disappeared from some regions. Do orcas play a crucial role in this?
