In the premiere season of "Good Heavens!", the aristocratic Pringle family’s world is turned upside down when Arthur’s "can't-miss" investment in steam-powered underwater mail-carriages sinks along with their entire fortune. Evicted from their manor, Arthur and Michelle must move their daughters—the mortified 12-year-old Jamille and the fearless 8-year-old Nicki—into a cramped city tenement.
Twelve-year-old Jamille is desperate to prove she is a "Modern Young Lady" by joining the local Ladies' Cycling Club, but her dreams of elegance are crushed when her 8-year-old sister, Nicki, accidentally breaks her expensive new bicycle. To fix the situation before their mother, Michelle, finds out, the sisters enter a high-stakes street race against the neighborhood boys. Meanwhile, Arthur tries to "coach" them using a series of overly complicated physics equations and a very loud megaphone, while Michelle secretly bets the grocery money on Nicki’s chaotic riding style.
Jamille and Nicki try to get their parents to reconcile after the great Feast of food argument only to find that they are very out of luck
Jamille tries to host a gala on a 5-cent budget. Nicki tries to "copy" the fancy food using mud pies and glitter.
Their old butler visits. The family pretends they still have servants, with Nicki playing the role of the "World’s Smallest Maid."
Jamille’s first day at the local school. She tries to teach the teacher about Shakespeare while Nicki trades her lunch for a "magic" harmonica.
Arthur takes the girls to show off his "Self-Winding Umbrella." It ends up taking Nicki for a short flight across the town square.
The girls try to sneak out for a late-night street festival. Nicki’s "elegant" disguise involves wearing three of Jamille’s dresses at once.
A famous painter wants to paint Jamille. Nicki keeps "fixing" the painting when the artist isn't looking to make herself the star.
Michelle organizes a rent strike. Jamille leads the group with sophisticated speeches, while Nicki provides the "musical" protest on a tin drum.
The Pringles celebrate their first Christmas in the city. They have no tree, so Arthur builds a "Steam-Tree" that smells like coal and peppermint.
