The Russian Civil War saw dramatic escalation as the other fronts of the First World War saw and end in the fighting. New countries across Eastern Europe tried to defend their independence while the Bolsheviks and the White Russian movement fought over supremacy in Russia. And the great powers that fought in WW1 did not stand idly by.
