A young man pretends to be hunchbacked in order to win the approval of a girl’s wealthy and extremely superstitious father. He immediately becomes the idol of his future father-in-law, but in the end, after granting him his daughter’s hand in marriage, the father begins to fear that his grandchildren might be deformed.
