An accidental meeting between Jarot and Lastri produces seeds of deep love and longing. This is a love story of a couple who are considered crazy by those who claim to be sane. But why do people who claim to be sane more often do crazy things to them?
Balada Sepasang Kekasih Gila offers a poetic and unusual narrative told from a child’s perspective, portraying love through the lens of two outcasts considered mentally ill. While the film carries strong symbolic and psychological undertones, its inconsistent character backstories, unexplained mental conditions, and contradictory religious elements weaken its narrative foundation. Despite strong performances from Denny Sumargo and debutant Sara Fajira, the film falls short of fully realizing its emotional and philosophical potential.
