In Frouville, a small village near Cergy-Pontoise, one shared house stands out from the rest. It's called "La Maison à Tonton." Among others, Carole, Jean-Pierre, and Michel live here. They share the experience of having spent varying lengths of time in a psychiatric institution. Autonomy is entering their lives, and with it, the question of how to live with their "madness." Although still somewhat isolated, bonds of solidarity have nevertheless formed between them and with some of the villagers, recreating a semblance of community life.
