"Assassination: 1932" constructs a by now familiar tale of China's partisan fight against the invading Imperial Army of Japan.
This is an expensive production; sets, locations and special effects are by no means lacking. The action is well done too, with lots of frenetic martial arts and gunplay to keep things moving along. I did feel the characterisations were a bit thin at times and could have done with a little more depth, to round things out.
In summary, a pretty decent action film that explores, as is so often the case with Chinese productions, its wartime past. Worth a look.
