The Story of Covington: A 200 Year Journey

The Story of Covington: A 200 Year Journey

The City of Covington was founded on July 4, 1813. The small town has a rich history dating back to the days of Andrew Jackson setting up camp on the banks of the Bogue Falaya River. To help celebrate this Southern jewel WLAE-TV has produced this documentary film, The Story of Covington: A 200 Year Journey. From H.J. Smith & Sons Hardware Store on Columbia Street to Lee Harvey Oswald's school days at Schoen Middle School, the city of Covington has a past full of stories that serve as a living history to this town that was once linked by flowing rivers and Lake Pontchartrain.
