Wilfried and Paula Sterckx run a brasserie together. Wilfried enjoys the contact with his regulars, while Paula is already dreaming of their approaching retirement. Chris is their eldest son and married to Lydia. He works as a lawyer in his father-in-law's firm. Becca is the eldest daughter and single mother of Dora. Nicky Sterckx is the youngest child in the family. She studies at university and leads a carefree life. At little Dora's birthday party, the entire family fills out a lottery ticket. None of them suspects that this will drastically change their lives...
The family collects the money at the lottery office. The family members are advised to keep their winnings a secret from the outside world. Now that Chris is walking around with a secret of his own, the lottery win means little to him. He is conflicted and doesn't know what to do with himself. Becca quits her office job. Her friend Lisa thinks Becca is having financial trouble and wants to help her. As a brand-new euro millionaire, Nicky can finally realize her big dream: moving into her own student room. Paula also wants to enjoy the money. She already pictures herself and Wilfried living in a beautiful Spanish cottage, but Wilfried doesn't want to make any hasty decisions.
