Season 1

In the premiere of this reality series about the residents of an autonomous community on Great Slave Lake in Canada's Northwest Territories, Randy hunts for moose, but jeopardizes his cover walking across a frozen lake; Stephan and Allyce try to fix the floats on their houseboat; Pike Mike attempts to secure his home; and newcomers Iman and Jessica must adapt to their surroundings in a hurry.

Randy hunts for caribou for the last time before winter sets in; Brian and Henry begin their quest to fill nine empty freezers with fish; Pike Mike shares local fishing techniques with Stephan and Allyce.

Molly comes home to the lake from Vancouver to help her father, Gary, open a restaurant; Randy's successful caribou hunt means he can enter an ice-carving competition; Stephan and Allyce face a dangerous situation when their heat is turned off; Brian and Henry need help fixing their fishing vessel.

The temperature is plummeting when Stephan and Allyce return from a fishing expedition and discover that their houseboat has no heat and their pipes are freezing.

The end of winter storms provides some relief, but food is still scarce until the spring thaw, so Ragnar goes hunting for bear. Meanwhile, Stephan and Allyce hope to find fish in the open lake; and Randy gets creative to set his snares.

With breakup of the lake on the horizon, our Rebels battle "cabin fever" by honing their survival skills at an annual ‘lake games’, but an accident on the ice reminds them that the lake is still in charge.

A community safety meeting is held as the ice begins to soften, and the gathering is well-timed when Brian falls through the ice, but is rescued by Henry, and Gary teaches Molly how to escape a similar situation. Meanwhile, Randy builds a floating mobile home to be used after the ice melts.

High winds that break up ice present a challenge for Gary and Molly, who hurry to secure their home before the storm gets worse, while Stephan and Allyce use a motorboat to break up large ice sheets into smaller chunks.

It seems that everyone is moving... literally; Stephan and Allyce finally get married; Pike Mike plans on moving to a quieter part of the lake; Randy gets his cabin-sized raft stuck on a sheet of ice in the river.

Special behind the scenes inside look at the very real dangers involved in filming this groundbreaking show; the crew has to rescue themselves when their vehicle crashes through ice and begins to sink and become part of all the danger.
