Local villain Eddie Davies hires Maddern to help with his bootleg run from France, selling to local shops at rates they can't afford. One such owner, Mr Malhorta, protests, so Maddern wounds him in order to teach him a lesson.
A mobile number found on Nadine Charles leads Christie and Andreotti to Rufus Teague, a known drug dealer. While Nadine is up in court, her boyfriend names Teague as a major buyer of cocaine.
Andreotti goes undercover in South London in order to observe Davies and his son. He gets chatting to one of Davies' men in their local pub and is offered a job as a driver on a run to France.
Reinhardt's long wait at Short's offices is finally rewarded when Lathem picks up the package from Sweden. While Roberts is held up in traffic, Reinhardt follows and arrests him at his home where he lives with his elderly mother.
After a complex operation using a Swedish undercover customs officer, City and South are finally in a position to knock Short's offices. However, Roberts' enthusiasm to be in on the arrest causes her to go against orders. She arranges to meet Short beforehand to ensure that she is in the building at the time of the knock.
To Roberts' horror, Jackson is forced to drop the charges against Short once the collaborators arrested refuse to name him in connection with the pornography racket. Once released, Short starts making threatening phone calls to Roberts.
Adams poses as a potential buyer for one of Webster's apartments in order to get closer to him. Maddern considers De Vooght's offer of Webster's shares, unaware that De Vooght plans to have them killed.
Jules Laurens negotiates a deal with a Russian gang to buy £20 million worth of heroin. Englishman Allan Montford is to buy another ten.
While the lorry containing a large quantity of Russian heroin treks across Europe, Reinhardt visits Interpol to examine their mugshots of known Turkish criminals. Adams also suggests that he may be a chef — as deduced from a set of knives found in the abandoned van.
Adams, furious at himself for having put Reinhardt's life at risk, orders him home as soon as he's reported to the Gendarmerie Centrale. Adams learns that the man Reinhardt has identified as one of the two involved in the shooting (Dulkadir), is an NCIS target.
The consignment of heroin arrives in Lyon. The French Mafia plots to wipe out the Russian smugglers using Montfort to infiltrate the gang. Chadwick shows Short evidence of his dealings with a child pornographer.
Christie persuades a scared and reluctant Lucas to show him the house where Dafyd delivered his print-outs. City and South check out the food importers and find Fauld's diary full of references to Montfort including his expected time of arrival at Heathrow. They find more incriminating evidence of Montfort's involvement, and reference to the Lyon farm, at Fauld's country home.
Adams receives permission from Jackson to bring the seriously injured Saphyvid to Heathrow in order to identify Montfort, thought to be travelling under an assumed name.
