Young chef Maksim Lavrov comes to Moscow to work in famous restaurant Claude-Monet. However, it turns out to be not so easy. He deals with a stern head chef, the ridicule of the team and art director Vika, with whom he spent the night before.
Vika tries to get Max fired; the head chef loses his favorite knife and refuses to cook.
The chef is preparing a banquet for the judge who deprived him of his driving license. Max can't fulfill his task - to kill a goose for the banquet. Vika is not let by her ex-boyfriend.
Max is given an important task - to prepare dinner for all the restaurant staff. Meanwhile, the chef finds out that someone from the restaurant wants to get a job with competitors. Bartender Kostya likes the waitress Nastya. Max decides to help a friend establish a personal life.
Max is trying to prove to Kostya that there is nothing between him and Nastya, but Nastya is sure of the opposite! Fedya and Max are competing to see which of them will cook the fish better.
The boss prepares for the arrival of the inspection from the SES and organizes cleaning in the kitchen. Max and Kostya accidentally throw out rare expensive mushrooms. To correct the mistake, friends have to accept the help of the homeless mand return him.
The chef burns his mouth with vinegar and can't appreciate the taste of his own dish. He turns to the cooks for help, but catches them in a lie. Max has to "compete" with Nastya for a free room in Kostya's apartment.
Viktor Barinov makes a bet with the chef of a competing restaurant Elena. They argue that Elena won't be able to spend a day in the kitchen of the Claude Monet restaurant. Nagiyev also asks Vika to babysit his dog.
The boss's ex-wife Tatiana brings their daughter to the restaurant and asks Vika to sit with her, but it's not so easy to keep track of little Alice even for her own father. Max is assigned to help Louis, but he has to replace him. As a result, he comprehends the secrets of confectionery and more.
The boss doesn't want to work on television, but he wants to make a big bet on football. He can't get the necessary amount and uses the money to buy black caviar in the hope of getting even. Max thinks that Vika is in love with him and begins to avoid her, which is why Vika lies to Max that she is pregnant.
Vika learns that "Claude Monet" should be visited by a restaurant critic. She is trying to calculate the criticism among restaurant visitors. Max, meanwhile, defends his culinary abilities, and the chef defends his leadership in the kitchen.
To raise the rating of the restaurant, Vika tries to introduce new ideas, new orders and a new menu, and the chef tries to defend the old ones. Max seeks Vicky's attention persistently and not without results!
The boss is quarreling with Elena over a parking space. Max comes up with a "lie to save Vicky", for which she has to pay. Nastya and Kostya are going to move on to "real" intimacy in a relationship.
The chef is "unable" to hold an outdoor banquet - he turns out to be very drunk! Max decides to save the banquet from failure. Staying in the kitchen for the chief, Lyova gets the opportunity to prove himself as a chef.
Vika offers Max to move in with her. Max will have to figure out if he is ready to live together. Kostya stays in the apartment alone with Nastya. He enjoys the opportunities, but gradually realizes that he is missing something. The chef takes full advantage of the kindness and gentleness of the faithful sous-chef and at the same time sets him up. A cold war begins between old friends.
In "Claude Monet" an inspection from the migration service came. Max, meanwhile, is trying to figure out the recipe for the chef's "branded" pate.
A new seasonal dish "from the chef" is a dish from Senya. The owner and the chef pay a "friendly visit" to Elena's restaurant, but the chef is hostile. Max is upset that Vika doesn't want to communicate with Nastya and Kostya - he comes up with a way to bring his friends closer.
Kostya and Max are going to raise the rent. Max teaches his friend to get left-handed earnings from the bar. Nagiyev is dissatisfied with the restaurant's income and introduces a strict austerity regime, which is why he fires several kitchen workers.
Igor, a potential new owner, comes to the restaurant. The boss tries to influence the owner's decision, returns his team to work, and loses his job on television. Max tells Vika that they have a free relationship, but soon he has a reason to regret these words.
The Chief's drunken prank threatens him with severe punishment of the master, but turns into a holiday for the whole team. Max is preparing a luxurious gift for Vicky, but on her birthday he presents her with a completely different "surprise". Nastya offers Kostya to move to a "new stage of relationship", but forgets to specify which one.
