
Sirasa Lakshapathi is the Sinhala-language adaptation of the world-famous British game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?. It is a leading non-fiction program and one of the highest-rated game shows in Sri Lankan television history.
The show was initially hosted by veteran actor and media personality Lucky Dias.
First Contestant: The very first contestant to appear on the show was Dilishiya Roshani.
Gameplay: The episode followed the standard Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? format, where contestants answered general knowledge multiple-choice questions for increasing amounts of money, with the top prize set at 2 million Sri Lankan rupees for that season
Host: By the time the season ended, Chandana Sooriyabandara had taken over hosting duties, having succeeded the original host, Lucky Dias, in April 2011.
Top Prize: During this inaugural season, the top prize was Rs. 2,000,000.
Season Duration: The season ran for nearly a full year, starting on September 18, 2010, and concluding on August 30, 2011.
Contestant Milestone: One of the most notable winners from the first season was Don Rupasiri, who won Rs. 1,000,000 (the penultimate prize) on October 23, 2010.
