Bela promises Juli she will pick up Samuca from school, but while stopping at a market, she has to attend to a pregnant woman who is about to give birth right there. Vanessa is annoyed that Bela wants to admit the pregnant woman to her hospital. Bela and Juli’s car flips over after a crash, and the nursing technician is left in critical condition. Juli makes Bela promise to look after her children.
Bela is devastated by Juli's death. Lucas is informed about the condition of Peixe, Glorinha, Ítalo, and Samuca's mother and takes them to the hospital. The four siblings discover that Juli has passed away. Peixe turns against Bela. The obstetrician meets Lucas, who comforts her after Juli's death. Leandra is hurt by Vanessa's lack of attention, and Gabriel supports his daughter.
Dulce is surprised when she arrives at Bela's house and sees Juli's children. Bela realizes the responsibility she took on by promising to look after her friend's children. Juarez concludes that he is responsible for Juli's death and becomes distraught. Dalva and Neiva pine for Ricardo. Toy confesses to Próspero that he is fascinated by Leandra. Peixe decides to return home.
Peixe decides to return home, but his siblings stay with Bela. Vanessa discovers a suspicious message from Pérola to Gabriel. Lucas supports Bela. Dalila insists she will not abandon Peixe. Bela goes to Iara’s house and assures Juarez that she will find Juli’s killer. Bela mentions Juarez’s dejected state to Iara. The doctor tries to organize her daily routine with the children, and Glorinha supports her.
Juarez decides not to reveal his involvement in the accident with Juli to his wife and daughter. Samuca struggles at school, and Ítalo helps him. Bela is moved by Gabriel's support. Próspero and Clemente argue, and Toy interrupts them. Vanessa overhears Gabriel talking to Pérola, who asserts that the obstetrician is the right person to take over the hospital presidency.
Vanessa is furious with Bela and treats her rudely. Pérola announces to Bela that she has plans for her at the hospital. Vanessa recalls how she lost her son in the past and blames the obstetrician. Bela talks to Gabriel about Juli's children. Ítalo struggles during his judo classes and misses his mother. Dalila focuses on her social media presence. Dulce resigns from her job with Bela.

Pérola confronts Vanessa. Samuca reaches out to Bela after a vision involving Juli. Vanessa humiliates Gabriel. Juarez becomes distressed upon seeing the police at Próspero's bar. Juli's children are taken to a shelter. Bela promises to resolve the situation but notices the children's disappointment.
Bela meets Carmela. Vera explains the shelter's rules to the children. Ricardo tells Gabriel to stay at his apartment. Gabriel offers to help Bela obtain temporary custody of Juli's children. Vanessa follows Gabriel and catches her husband with Bela.
Gabriel tells Bela that he left Vanessa. Lucas welcomes Peixe and his brothers to school again. Bela asks the director for news about the children. Vanessa sends false news to the press in order to compromise Bela. Gabriel talks to Leandra about the separation from Vanessa. Toy is frustrated when he can't introduce himself to Leandra. Bela discovers that she was reported as a child kidnapper.
Bela deduces that it was Vanessa who framed her. Gabriel tells Ricardo that Bela still affects him. Vanessa humiliates Bela, who reacts and confronts her. Iracema comforts Bela. Pérola feels unwell, and Leandra worries. Suelen complains to Dalila about being unable to get close to Peixe. Peixe shows Lucas the article containing the false story accusing Bela of kidnapping minors.
Bela rushes to help Carmela, while Vanessa refuses to act as the anesthesiologist in the absence of the doctor on duty. Bela successfully delivers Carmela's baby; Carmela claims that no one knew she was pregnant. Lucas is disappointed that Bela missed their meeting. Pérola finds out that Vanessa refused to assist with Carmela's delivery and reprimands her daughter. Vanessa badmouths Bela to Junqueira.
Vanessa strikes a deal with Junqueira. Iara suggests that Bela get closer to Lucas. Peixe asks Suelen out, and Dalila gets jealous. Ricardo tells Bela he believes Gabriel still has feelings for her. Leandra drops Gabriel off at the shelter where Juli's children are staying. Carmela thanks Bela for saving her life and her baby's life. Toy hires Maike to work at his stall.
Peixe and his siblings manage to distract Vera and escape from the group home. Bela is distraught when she discovers the children have run away and asks Gabriel for help finding them. Peixe and his siblings try to return to the house where they used to live with Juli, only to discover that someone else is living there. After having their backpacks stolen, Peixe, Ítalo, Glorinha, and Samuca take shelter under a viaduct.
Ítalo takes advantage of Peixe's distraction to send a photo of his location to Bela. Bela finds the children and announces that she has secured temporary custody of the siblings. Vanessa tells Gabriel she will not give up on their love. Juarez offers Peixe a job. Gabriel announces that footage of the car involved in the accident that claimed Juli's life has been found, and Juarez panics.
