The Grove reopens after the fire. Noddy and Gary are given awards for rescuing Geoff, who is temporarily in a wheelchair. The lads are training for the Youth Clubs five-a-side tournament but are unhappy that Alfie is spending so much time with Karen.
Gary engineers a meeting with Laura, and Alison warns Laura off Gary. The Grovers rescue the Grove treasures, but Dale is carried off in the skip.
Amanda and Patsy make up, and Amanda asks Patsy to stay. Dale finds out from Marie he has been dropped and is very upset. Alfie and the others see Karen playing in the Salvation Army band. Angel discovers Laura has a boyfriend, Kevin, she tries to tell Gary, but he won't listen and runs after Laura to the station to give her a red rose.
The lads are unhappy with Ronnie Purkiss's kit. Alfie resigns as captain, and Marie appoints Frew. The tournament takes place, and Byker loses in the final because Dale awards a penalty against them. Amanda and Patsy have.
Patsy and Amanda are evicted from their flat. Flora prepares to divorce her father. Charlie and Leah go surfing with Andy and spot one of their teachers on the beach. Gary attempts to make Laura jealous. They go bowling and finish the evening off with a romantic kiss.
Anna suspects that Alfie might be involved with a cult. She, Dale, and Ed track him down to the Salvation Army. Patsy and Amanda move into the Salvation Army hostel. Barney tries to chat up girls without success and has to kiss Anna for a bet. Gary attempts to transform Laura into Jemma. Flora and Brigid write fan letters to 'Rude'.
Flora receives a letter from Ashley. Anna, Ed and Dale try 'shock therapy' on Alfie. Kit and Travis help Patsy and Amanda to get back into their flat, and Laura arranges a sit in when it looks like the girls are to be homeless. Ronnie Purkiss turns up threatening to bulldoze the building.
The police arrive at the flat and arrest Gary. Laura does a deal with Purkiss, and manages to get another flat for Patsy and Amanda. Anna plants alcohol on Alfie who is reprimanded by Mrs. Thrubb. Flora and her father fall out when news of her divorce almost hits the press.
Gary says goodbye to Laura, Angel says goodbye to Noddy. Charlie and Leah try to get work experience at a TV station and enlist Russell's help to set up a cable channel at the Grove. Alfie helps Karen in a young chef competition.
Flora sneaks into Ashley's house after sending him some knickers. She smashes a photo of Ashley and Jasmine and escapes in a florist's van. Frew and Marie start going out, but Barney and Anna fall out over a rough kiss. Charlie and Leah audition for Grove TV. Angel meets a boy called Mick To the Grover's horror. Terry arrives at the Grove to do community service.
Flora is not eating and skips school to go and see an interview with Rude. She slips backstage and sees Ashley, who is kind to her. Terry is painting a mural at the Grove, Dale admires him. Gary is being threatening. Alfie gets through to the final of the cookery competition by using ready-made pastry.
Issy encourages Barney to shoplift. Leah collects gossip for her cable show. Charlie stabs Leah in the back to get the work experience job. Flora spies on Jasmine and warns her off Ashley. She breaks into her flat and trashes the bedroom.
Arran and Alfie discover that Patsy has been sleeping rough. Barney and Frew arrive back from the country. Marie is delighted to see Frew, but Anna is cool with Barney. Leah gets a mystery letter. The girls decide to do aerobics at the Grove and want Ed's mom, Gloria, to teach them, much to his dismay. Terry takes Dale on a graffitti raid.
Flora is in hospital suffering from exhaustion and lack of food. Patsy moves into the Gallaghers. Charlie pays her to make a docudrama about life on the streets. Terry and Dale get stuck at the top of the Monument, trying to graffiti it.
Frew and Barney are let off the hook because there was no positive ID. Jane turns up at the Grove. Gloria arrives at the Grove, twisting Geoff round her little finger. Patsy leaves, off to Ipswich despite Arran's last-minute declaration of love.
Gloria thoroughly embarrasses Ed around the Grove. Barney sets up a meeting between him, Anna, Marie, and Frew to sort things out, but he doesn't turn up, and it all goes horribly wrong. Barney offers Anna some stolen perfume.
Alfie and Ed fuse the lights in revenge for the girls banning Alfie from aerobics. Arran injures his knee. Tony tells Flora he's going to work in America, but Flora still refuses to have anything to do with him. Angel has been offered a place at college in Bradford, she tells Gary, who is shocked.
Arran blows his trial by losing his temper. Flora finds an old home film with Anna's mum in it. Anna sees it and is upset. Gary makes a bad impression on Angel's parents and turns up at "Steam" later, meeting up with Angel and Charlie.
After talking to Anna at a picnic with Jean, Flora decides to go and see her dad, and they have a tearful farewell at the airport. Dale bullies Jack. Terry's dad tells him he is in prison for another year, Terry freaks and destroys part of his Grove mural.
The girls fail in their world record attempt because Flora and Brigid both tire, and Marie runs off with Frew to help Barney. Charlie brings Ashley to the Grove for a pop forum. Dale tells everyone about Jack's bedwetting, then turns on the Grovers when they criticise him.
