Introductory Chapter

Follows Haruki Kitahara during his final year of high school, as he works to revive the school’s light music club for the upcoming festival. Through music, he becomes closely involved with two very different girls: the cheerful and popular Setsuna Ogiso, and the introverted yet gifted pianist Kazusa Touma.

As the trio grows closer, unspoken feelings and emotional imbalances begin to surface. Haruki’s attempts to maintain harmony and avoid hurting anyone instead lead to quiet compromises and moral ambiguity. The school festival performance marks the peak of their bond, but also creates an emotional rupture that is never truly resolved.

Rather than concluding the conflict, Introductory Chapter establishes the emotional “original sin” of the story — one that shapes all events that follow in later chapters.
