As a teenage exchange student in 2014, Max left his native France for a year to live out the American dream in the quintessential American town of Owasso, Oklahoma. Ten years later, he returns in the run-up to the presidential election.
Max finds it difficult to understand his friends' new reality. He attends a Trump rally to gauge the mood and is amazed by the fervor he feels there. For disillusioned people struggling with economic and social problems, Trump is a savior.
Despite all their political differences, Max, the Kehl family, and his old school friend Jace are very happy to see each other again.
Election Day has passed, and Trump is coming back to power in an eerily calm America. Max learns how the MAGA ideology is affecting the country as his US trip soon comes to an end.
