Philipp, a German burglar, catches the eye of Italian tourist Luca while vacationing on the Greek island of Rhodes. When Luca witnesses something that he's not supposed to see, Philipp must set a trap to ensure that there are no loose ends.
When Philipp returns to Germany, he begins an affair with Deniz, an employee at the hotel where he is staying. When his superiors discover that he did not dispatch with Luca, as intended, the hunter becomes the hunted. Philipp soon flees in an effort to protect Deniz's life.
While hiding in an abandoned guest house far outside the city, Philipp encounters a mysterious wild boar hunter named Willi. As the two get closer to one another, Philipp begins to suspect that Willi may know more than he's saying.
Lovesick, Deniz tracks down Philipp and comes to see him in hiding. Insisting that he's willing to risk everything – even his own life – to be with Philipp, Deniz starts learning to shoot. The results, unfortunately, do not inspire much confidence in the rightfully worried Philipp.
Still in seclusion, Philipp goes swimming one morning – unaware that the one of the gangsters who has been looking for him is following dangerously close behind.
