Serafina de Lavillant, the strongest knight of the West, leads an expedition to conquer the barbaric tribes of the East. However, when the mission ends in a crushing defeat, she is captured alive and dragged back to the enemy's stronghold. Preparing herself for the most brutal and humiliating torture imaginable, Serafina is left completely stunned when the barbaric king, Veor, suddenly approaches her and... proposes. Forced into this arranged marriage, she gradually begins to realize that these eastern tribes are not nearly as savage as her kingdom had led her to believe.

Sera and Malcius witness the ritual to undo the damage caused by the Fiend.

After her engagement necklace comes off, Sera tries to find a way to put back on.

With Sera feeling conflicted, Veor offers a suggestion to help her gain perspective.
