Radio 2’s Piano Room month is back and to kick it off in style alongside the BBC Concert Orchestra is Jarvis Cocker and the legendary pop-rock band Pulp. They’ll be performing x3 tracks including a cover by Abba which sounds more like a Pulp track than a Pulp track.

Radio 2’s Piano Room Month is back and we are joined by a genuine global superstar, she’s sold an incredible 130 million records worldwide and has co-written a record-breaking ELEVEN 11 number one hits, both as a group member and as a solo artist. Joining the BBC Concert Orchestra in today’s Radio 2 Piano Room are the Grammy award winning Mumford & Sons, 17 years after their first session at iconic Maida Vale studios. Since then, the band have enjoyed record-breaking chart success and built a global following. Vernon Kay welcomes Marcus and the band back for a standout set, featuring the classic ‘The Cave’, their new release ‘The Banjo Song’, a striking cover of Taylor Swift’s ‘Cowboy Like Me’, plus an additional bonus track of 'White Blank Page'.

Performing alongside the BBC Concert Orchestra, Squeeze shine in the Radio 2 Piano Room. With a lively performance featuring classic track ‘Hourglass’, a cover by Wings and new song ‘You Get The Feeling’. They have been thrilling us for over fifty years with hits such as ‘Labelled With Love’, ‘Tempted’ and ‘Up The Junction’ making them bona fide national treasures. They now deliver their new wave pop sound to the Radio 2 audience for Piano Room Month 2026.

Nineties pop music icons Appleton, formerly of All Saints, grace the Radio 2 Piano Room, alongside the BBC Concert Orchestra. Performing as a duo for the first time in 20 years. Creating half of the nineties and noughties coolest girl band, All Saints, who also had great influence on British fashion with their trade mark cargo pant style. The sisters went on to have chart success as two-piece Appleton, and are now back recording together after two decades! Bringing their effortless breezy style to the Piano Room, they perform new track ‘Falling Into You’, classic All Saints song ‘Black Coffee’ and Glen Campbell cover ‘Wichita Lineman’.

ritish boy band royalty, Blue join the BBC Concert Orchestra in the Piano Room. Expect an epic performance of ‘One Love’, and a fiery take on Adele mixed with ‘Eye Of The Tiger’, along with new track ‘The Vow’. In the business now for 25 years, with a highlights reel that includes three consecutive number 1 albums and two BRIT Awards. They still ride high in the charts today, with their most recent album ‘Reflections’ proving a hit with fans, and continue to be a huge live draw selling out their upcoming 25th anniversary tour. Vernon welcomes Lee, Antony, Simon and Duncan to the Maida Vale Studios for nostalgia fueled chat and enchanting melodies.

Joining the BBC Concert Orchestra in today’s Radio 2 Piano Room is Laufey. Fresh from picking up a Grammy at this year’s awards, the Icelandic vocal sensation will perform three tracks including a cover. The gifted multi-instrumentalist will feel right at home, as she used to be part of an orchestra herself.

Tori Amos takes to the ivories for the penultimate Piano Room this Month. Performing, with the BBC Concert Orchestra, hit ‘Cornflake Girl’, a new track and Bob Dylan cover ‘The Times They Are A Changing’. Known for her intoxicating performances, she broke through with hits including ‘Crucify’, now the 90s piano icon lights up the Maida Vale Studios with her infectious alternative sound.

Bringing an epic close to Piano Room Month. It’s Jessie J with the BBC Concert Orchestra, singing classic track ‘Who You Are’, new song ‘California’ and putting colossal flair on musical hit ‘Defying Gravity’ from Wicked. The BRIT Award winning and Grammy nominated star gives us a belter of a performance, and brings down the curtain on a tremendous few weeks of live music for Radio 2’s Piano Room Month 2026.
