Patápio begs to talk to engineer Rebouças and asks him for help. Lucas is introduced to Dr. Alberto and begins teaching his daughters. Benjamin tries to influence Deodoro.
Benjamin tries to convince Gen. Deodoro to accept the republic and fight for it. Lucas becomes more and more enchanted by Dora. Patápio thinks of a new plan to deliver his letter.
Patápio puts an end to Seixas' case. Floriano sends a clarifying letter to Viscount of Ouro Preto. Lucas decides to make a gesture of love. Benjamin anticipates the blow.
Even though he was ill, Gen. Deodoro da Fonseca decided to go to fight. Dr. Alberto and Margarida decide to run away. Lucas asks for Dora's hand in marriage and is surprised. The republic is established.
