Yowis Ben: The Series serves as a prequel to the films. Set in Malang before the formation of their band, close friends Bayu and Doni constantly feel they are unlucky and hopeless compared to Nando. To make things worse, Bayu gets caught up in a family drama while trying to mend the broken romance between Cak Jon and Mbak Rini.
The story begins in Malang, where Bayu and Doni feel that their lives are plagued by constant bad luck. They continually compare themselves to Nando, who is more successful.
