Abanoub Nabil is an established filmmaker with a deep passion for visual storytelling and
a talent for creating emotionally resonant, visually captivating films. His journey into
cinema began through an early love for photography at the age of fifteen, which led him
to pursue directing at the Higher Institute of Cinema in Cairo, where he graduated in
2016.
With over eight years of experience in directing, Abanoub has developed a diverse body
of work that includes several award-winning films. His short film The Tea Cart (2015)
received multiple awards, showcasing his distinctive ability to craft powerful narratives
through striking imagery.
Beyond his work as a director, Abanoub has gained extensive experience as an executive
director on various feature and documentary projects. Most recently, he served as
Executive Director for Drama 1882, a project presented by the Egypt Pavilion at La
Biennale di Venezia 2024 — an experience that deepened his understanding of the
filmmaking process and reaffirmed his dedication to cinematic art.
Today, Abanoub continues to explore new creative horizons, focusing on films that leave
a lasting emotional impact and contribute to the ongoing evolution of cinematic
storytelling.
