Abdallah Motan began his career as a photographer in 2012, working with several media organizations in Palestine. Later, he transitioned to video photography, collaborating with television and film directors as a director of photography, as well as documenting diverse cultures with Arab travelers in China, Tanzania, and Venezuela. His goal is to create exceptional movie experiences while exploring diverse cultures. In 2017, he co-founded the Qamat Foundation to document the Palestinian struggle, serving as its Vice President until 2024. During his tenure at Qamat, he directed several short documentaries, including RPG Children (2022), which won the Best Short Documentary Award at the Tyre Film Festival in Lebanon in 2023, and Deferred Reclaim, which earned the Jury Prize at the Cinema Vérité Festival in Tehran in 2024.
The filmmaker was arrested by the "Israeli Defense Forces" on January 13, 2025, and sentenced to six months of “administrative detention” without trial or charges.
