Yan Sheng-Wen (Sheng) was born in Taipei, Taiwan. He is a sound artist, music producer and sound designer whose works crossover between experimental sound, film and theatre.

His works and performances have been presented in many organization and events, including Modernological Urbanscape – at French art platform CHRONIQUES, HEIYE 2020 – at Nuit Blanche Taiwan, and Berlin based platform Salon Oblique, And It Come to Pass – at Taipei Fine Art Museum, The Invincible Swiftness of The Golden Crow – at Spain’s contemporary dance festival Masdanza, Nordic – at Yokohama Dance Collection, Electric Indigo – at National Theater & Concert Hall, 30th anniversary event, The Serene Gallery – at MoNTUE, A Peacock Made of Light – Giuseppe Castiglione New Media Art Exhibition at National Palace Museum, and Audiovisual Praxis – at Sonic Anchor #22 CMHK. He also released his first studio album 晟 SHENG (self-titled album) in late 2019.

In addition, Sheng involves in various cross disciplinary projects. Such projects include FUTURE VISION LAB, an immersive dome installation curated by C-Lab, and BITMEN, a NFT projects initiated by Bitman, Shifting Borders, a VR funeral project by visual artist Huang Wei-Hsuan, and Current/y, by Chen Yi Studio, a 64-channel Live Audio/Visual performance, Into the Mountain Kaohsiung Film Festival VR Original, Wandering Festival and DIVERSONICS by C-Lab Taiwan Sound Lab, He also participated in a European tour with Lack Sound Festival, and has performed at prestigious venues such as the IKLECTIK, Sanatorium of Sound Festival and the Santa Gertrud Church. The tour has been was well received in England, Germany and Poland. In 2024, he was also invited by CHEN Wu-Kang, to work as a sound designer at CalArts to co-produce his new work, and at the end of the year, he was invited to perform at the Seoul International Computer Music Festival in Korea, and invited to participate Berlin International Film Festival. At the same time, was nominated for the Best Sound Design at the Taipei Film Awards.

Sheng's current project combines a variety of elements and techniques, such as granular synthesis, Foley, ambient sound, field recording, test tones, and traditional instruments. In an attempt to create an electronic sound that belongs to future Taiwan.
