Hiya! My name is Daniela Rojo and I am a freelance film director, writer, cinematographer and editor based in Toronto, Canada. I started off writing stories as a young child, and I was 8 years old when I was first exposed to the fascinating world of content creation and visual media. Throughout the years of being invested in creating little movies for my friends and family as a child, I knew inevitably that I wanted to pursue a career in filmmaking. At the age of 17, I later on went to study Video Design and Production at George Brown College and graduated in 2022.
As a woman of color in a white man’s world, I have often found difficulty in both expressing my sentiments to the world and making sense of my experiences. The art of filmmaking has blessed me with a voice that I lack in verbal words, and for that, I will forever be grateful. For this reason, it is my objective to use film as a vehicle for empathy and tell the stories of the women who are not able to, and the communities who cannot. I’ve had the chance to work in several projects, but am always looking for new opportunities to develop my skillset. Get in touch for additional information about my past work and current projects. - Daniela Rojo
