Rhys Schuffman is a 15-year-old filmmaker and screenwriter based in Los Angeles, CA. He wrote and directed the short film Riffs (2024), a coming-of-age story about artistic identity in the age of AI. Rhys is currently developing several original screenplays, including Perdu, a psychological thriller set in Paris; Nü, a short about a stage manager unraveling at a Nu-Metal concert; and Before the Robots Come, a poetic drama set on New Year’s Eve 1999. His work aims to stand apart from the current “new wave” of teen filmmakers by embracing emotional discomfort, moral ambiguity, and bold, atmospheric storytelling.
