Iris Lau

Iris Lau is a sixteen-year-old filmmaker from New York City with a passion for storytelling both behind and in front of the camera. She first fell in love with filmmaking at thirteen, spending her time studying cinematography, recording school performances, and developing her skills in screenwriting, directing, and producing. Since then, she has continued to explore emotionally driven storytelling through student films and creative media projects.

In addition to her independent work, Iris has collaborated with BYkids, where she further developed her voice as a young filmmaker and storyteller. In 2026, she received the Best Commercial Animation award as a producer at the AISFA East Animation Film Festival 2026. Through her work, Iris aims to create stories that feel intimate, visually expressive, and emotionally honest.
