Andrew Nguyen

Andrew Nguyen (born August 18, 2008) is a filmmaker based in Melbourne, Australia. As part of his accelerated studies in VCE Media, Andrew wrote, produced, and starred in the short psychological horror film ‘Steady, As She Goes’ (2025).

The film was selected as one of 15 works exhibited in Top Screen 2026, part of the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) Season of Excellence, from over 350 submissions across the state. Presented at ACMI, Top Screen showcases the highest-achieving student films in Victoria and highlights emerging voices in Australian filmmaking.

In addition to exhibition at Top Screen 2026, Andrew was awarded the Second Runner-Up Jury Prize (3rd in Victoria), selected by an esteemed panel of industry experts, recognising his achievement in storytelling and screen production. For this, Andrew would also be invited to join the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) Schools Youth Jury for 2026.
