Robert Laas was born in Chester, Montana with a chronic illness called Cystic Fibrosis. In 2014, he attended his first film festival in Billings called Magic City Shorts where he won "Best Student Film". In 2020, he and his mother and brother moved to Los Angeles where he briefly attended New York Film Academy, though dropped out due to medical reasons.
