Generosity, weakness for expensive pleasures and ruin is a combination that does not bode well. Johann Friedrich von Allmen was a man with a taste for women and the expensive pleasures of life. Unfortunately, his luck has run out, but now a new opportunity presents itself.

After his successful first "case", Allmen decides to make finding lost art objects his profession and thus avoid financial misery in the future.

Ironically, the art detective Johann Friedrich von Allmen is staying in a high-end Zurich hotel when a million-dollar dahlia painting disappears from the private suite of the owner. What would be more obvious to the eccentric Dahlia Gutbauer than to entrust "Allmen International Inquiries" with the discreet replacement?

For Johann Friedrich von Allmen, boredom is not an acceptable condition. During an uninspiring reading, the art detective spontaneously steals a famous Fabergé egg from the host's possession. His security officer, Krähenbühler, does not allow the unusual robber to be exposed, but tries to blackmail von Allmen into an even more brazen theft.

Johann Friedrich von Allmen and his partner Carlos get caught up in a new adventure in which the disappearance of a very valuable koi plays a crucial role.
