Auf dem Trockenen
Auf dem Trockenen - Der neue Kampf ums Wasser
Climate change is no longer a problem for the future in Berlin and Brandenburg. Due to the drought, a battle for water has long since broken out here too. But only a few recognize the seriousness of the situation. Will we soon be left high and dry?
Auf dem Trockenen - Der Kampf ums Wasser geht weiter
Water is becoming scarce in Berlin and Brandenburg. Drought, rising consumption and new industrial settlements are increasingly causing disputes in the region over this elementary resource. What needs to happen? What could solutions look like? Despite average rainfall over the past two years, Berlin and Brandenburg, the German states with the lowest rainfall, are suffering from acute drought. New data shows the dramatic drop in groundwater levels over the last ten years - the consequences are drying up bodies of water, dying trees and increasingly frequent problems with drinking water supplies. Two years after their film "Auf dem Trockenen - Der neue Kampf ums Wasser", authors Nico Schmolke and Constantin Stüve shed light on what has happened in the region since then in relation to the issue of water shortages.
